A brownfield turned into a business address
CREANOR is not a new site looking for its first tenants. It has been an address for companies in Dunkirk for forty years.
- 1920 Les Coopérateurs de Flandres et d’Artois A regional distribution leader settles here. The COOP will run the site for 65 years and employ up to 350 people.
- 1985 The site closes The COOP shuts down and leaves an industrial brownfield in the middle of town.
- 1986 GROUPE BECI takes it over The group buys the site to turn the whole of it into a business incubator rather than demolish it.
- Today 12,500 sqm in use A rehabilitated complex hosting retail, offices, activity space and storage — and 90 companies.
Refurbishment — phase 1
A new face for the CREANOR business centre
At the entrance to Coudekerque-Branche, the CREANOR business centre is hard to miss, a familiar landmark in the Dunkirk area. A symbol of entrepreneurial energy, it is now beginning a far-reaching transformation.
GROUPE BECI is launching the first phase of a major refurbishment programme, with the ambition of modernising and extending this landmark site. Located at 2 route de Bergues, the future 3,031 sqm building will house two retail units on the ground floor and eight office floors, designed by D’houndt + Bajart Architectes, known for the B!B in Dunkirk.
